5 Must-Have Lipsticks This Fall

top 5 lipsticks 2

There are three main criteria I look for when purchasing a new lipstick: shade, durability, and price. Lip color trends change from season to season, so I like to make sure my repertoire is up to date. I also want my lip color to stand out without having to worry about reapplying after drinking and eating. And for a girl on a tight budget, I have to make sure I find strong color and long-lasting qualities at the right price.

To make it easy on everyone, here’s a definitive list of this fall’s top 5 lipsticks. They won’t leave you disappointed!

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip, Limbo

There is no color that screams fall! to me louder than a deep crimson. Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Limbo hits the nail on the head by mixing dark red and brown tones to create the perfect shade to be worn as the leaves are changing color.

It isn’t available in stores, but you can get it on the Colourpop website for only $6.00.

Rimmel Provocalips, Kiss Fatal

Some people are uncomfortable with rocking unconventional shades, and purple is a color people often shy away from. This lipstick, however, is nothing to be afraid of; with its grey and plum undertones, it blends effortlessly into the majority of skin complexions without being too fussy. Rimmel claims that this product lasts 16 hours, so if you’re constantly on the go, this is something you’ll appreciate.

LA Splash Lip Couture, Ghoulish

If you’re in the Halloween spirit, this is a lip product you’ll enjoy. LA Splash Lip Couture in Ghoulish has slight purple and mauve undertones, giving lips a faint-but-not-dead look. It’s a color that strays outside of many people’s comfort zones, but trust me, when you try it, you won’t go a day without wearing it.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, Monte Carlo

I think it’s safe to say that most of us are already huge fans of NYX’s Soft Matte Lip Creams. I personally own almost every shade, but this fall, there are two particular shades that work well with the current trends. The first is Monte Carlo, which is a transitional summer-to-fall red shade. It has hints of summer brightness in its undertones while maintaining a bold red look. This lip color lets you live out your summer days just a little bit longer while also preparing you for fall.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, Cannes

Seriously, these lip creams never fail me. There are several shades in the collection that always work with current seasons and trends. In addition to Monte Carlo, Cannes is a great shade for fall. While Monte Carlo is a bit of a bolder look, Cannes stays relatively natural and blends well into any lip tone. Let’s be honest–we all try to achieve Kylie Jenner’s effortless, chic lip color, and Cannes gets you pretty darn close. It’s a staple lipstick this season.
